ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
"Gild the Lily" From creating fabrics and women's garments, I moved to jewelry as a natural extension. At first, brooches were meant for specific garments, but now the making is more inclusive. Simple ideas, objects taken out of their original context provide the interest and engagement with the wearer that I strive for. Wearability is paramount, as is the unusual nature of the idea or application. No point in making stuff like what is out there in vast quantities. Always looking for new processes and ideas.
